Washington, D.C. - After seven months of hostilities at a cost to taxpayers of billions of dollars, President Trump is now using his bully pulpit to call for an end to the war in Iran.

"This war has cost us so much," Trump said during a recent wide-ranging and at times combative interview with Time magazine. "The money we've wasted is terrible, but we've also lost some good men. Brave, strong, beautiful men that now won't get the chance to have dinner near me by buying some of my crypto coins. Sleepy Joe never should have started this terrible war and somebody should stop it."

With the midterm elections right around the corner, Trump and the Republican party are attempting to distance themselves from unpopular policies. According to midterm election historian Carmine Hubble, it is common for one party to shift blame when it comes to things like the national debt, rising prices, and military conflicts abroad. "Like when Bush blamed the U.S. intelligence community for the bad information leading to the Iraq War, or that time when Obama accused an aide of convincing him to wear a tan suit. Both sides of the aisle can be terrible, and the harmful ripple effects of their decisions truly can alter the course of human history."
